Designing Alignment and Strategic Clarity for a Fast-Growing Consumer Services Company
Washmen had grown rapidly, with strong momentum and an ambitious roadmap. Yet as the organization scaled, the founders sensed a growing challenge: while the strategy felt clear at the top, it wasn’t landing with the same clarity or coherence across teams. Departments were operating with good intent, but without a fully shared understanding of the company’s direction, priorities, and the reasoning behind key strategic choices.
Cosmic Centaurs partnered with Washmen’s founders to design and facilitate a leadership offsite that would create alignment, surface unspoken tensions, and build a shared strategic narrative across the extended leadership team.

You never made us feel like we weren’t good enough. Our challenges weren’t positioned as existential threats, but as opportunities for learning. The work was extremely grounded and practical, not ‘consult-ingy’ at all. You took the time to truly understand the problem before proposing solutions, guided difficult conversations with clarity and empathy, and helped us build alignment that lasted well beyond the offsite.

Our Engagement in 5 Questions

1. What challenge(s), problem(s), or pain point(s) were you struggling with before you started working with Cosmic Centaurs?
Before engaging with Cosmic Centaurs, we were experiencing:
Misalignment across and within departments
A fragmented understanding of the company’s vision and strategy
Limited shared clarity around why certain opportunities were pursued while others were deliberately set aside
While Rami and I [the founders] had a strong grasp of the strategy, this understanding wasn’t consistently translated across domains. Addressing this was critical to sustaining performance while reducing dependency on the founders for alignment and decision-making.
2. How did Cosmic Centaurs address the identified problem or challenge?
Our work began before the offsite.
Cosmic Centaurs conducted informed, unbiased conversations with key stakeholders across the organization, speaking with influential leaders to diagnose both friction points and untapped opportunities. This allowed us to surface real concerns and patterns, without preconceived solutions.
Based on this diagnosis, you worked closely with us to:
Clarify the strategic narrative
Structure sensitive topics for open, constructive discussion
Design an offsite agenda that balanced rigor, openness, and psychological safety
A big plus of the pre-offsite preparation was that you created a "simplified" strategy deck that felt like downloading our brain.
During the offsite, complex strategic thinking was translated into a clear, accessible structure. The experience was intentionally grounded and practical, avoiding performative or overly abstract facilitation, while still enabling difficult conversations to happen with honesty and respect.
Notably, the way individual egos were navigated in the room, and how challenging conversations were handled, continued to be referenced positively long after the offsite concluded.
3. What results or changes have you seen since the offsite?
Several months after the engagement, the impact remains tangible:
Cross-departmental collaboration and cadence significantly improved
Leadership autonomy increased, reducing reliance on the founder for day-to-day alignment
Performance remained strong, with greater clarity and ownership across the leadership team
4. What is one thing that surprised you about our partnership?
It wasn’t ‘consult‑ingy’. I expected something softer or more abstract. Instead, the work was extremely grounded, practical, and collaborative. You felt like people who had been in the trenches before.
You also showed a real balance between structure and humanity, and that continued to shape how leaders worked together months later.
5. What made you choose Cosmic Centaurs as a partner?
Cosmic Centaurs stood out for being grounded and thoughtful in how you approached the work. There was no pressure to conform or perform, and no attempt to use fear or urgency to sell. Instead, you took the time to understand the organization as it was, without positioning our challenges as existential threats. You didn’t prescribe solutions upfront, but followed a clear, disciplined process to diagnose the real problem before moving forward, which built trust from the very beginning.
You took the time to understand the real problem before proposing any solutions. That discipline, combined with how you handled egos and difficult conversations, created a level of trust and alignment we hadn’t experienced before.
