It’s no surprise that remote teams rely heavily on technology. After all, it is because of these tools that we can work virtually and create value independent of location.
Throughout our work with clients across the Middle East, we noticed a shortage of Arabic-friendly remote work tools despite the fact that 274 million people worldwide speak Arabic. So, to help these speakers and teams find the right tech stack to collaborate, we set out to list effective tools that are either Arabic first or support the Arabic language to enable Arabic-speaking teams to create value for their organizations.
Messaging, Chat & Email
Google Workspace is a collection of tools and software products that help increase team productivity, collaboration, and efficiency. It includes Gmail, chat, calendar, drive, and many more apps, all in one place to facilitate communication and teamwork.
The entire Google interface can be changed to Arabic from the settings menu.
Project & Task Management
Ana is an Arabic-first task management tool that allows you to customize your Kanban-like board, share it with others and attach documents to your tasks. With Ana, you can keep track of what is to be accomplished, what is being worked on, and what tasks are done.
Data & Knowledge Sharing
Yamli is a native Arabic tool that functions as a search engine focused on providing more relevant search results for an Arabic query. It also offers you the chance to type in Arabic using English phonetics. Yamli is great for conducting research in Arabic and is especially helpful for users without an Arabic keyboard.
Confluence is a popular Agile collaboration tool for teams to share knowledge and work together. It has an Arabic for Confluence add-on that makes Arabic available as a language to choose in the settings.
Design
Canva is an incredible multimedia graphic design tool which can be used to create social media content, presentations, videos, posts and many more. It offers Arabic temples, font options, and visuals to make your content and collateral culturally relevant.
Employee Engagement
Peakon is a software that gathers feedback from employees and helps leaders put the extracted insights into action. This increases engagement and involvement of employees and fosters better team dynamics. Arabic can be chosen as a language in the settings and it may adapt directly if the browser you are using is already in Arabic.
