Strategic Alignment & Execution: Enabling Organizations to Deliver on Strategy
The Challenge: Strategy That Stays on Paper
The gap between strategy and execution doesn’t stem from bad strategies, it stems from overlooking what it takes to turn plans into action.
Great execution is the result of many interdependent parts of an organization working in concert—people, structure, culture, processes, and systems. Yet these elements are often treated in isolation, if at all.
Despite well-crafted plans, we’ve seen strategic execution falter due to unclear priorities, misaligned leadership, missing operating rhythms, siloed teams, weak middle management, and undefined culture.
Without connecting planning to reality, even the best strategies stay on paper, ignored, misunderstood, or impossible to implement.
90% of strategies are never fully implemented.
The Work: Enabling Organizations to Deliver
To diagnose why companies fail to execute on their strategies, we built the Omnichannel Organization™, a framework to identify barriers to execute holistically, by looking at an organization as a living system, and uncovering what’s truly standing in the way of making strategy real.
Companies with strong strategic alignment outperform peers by 2.2 X

1. Translating Strategy into Clear, Actionable Language
95% of a company’s employees are unaware of, or do not understand, its strategy
Leaders often spend months developing strategic plans, only for them to remain trapped in dense slide decks or consultant jargon. The result is confusion, misalignment, and disengagement. A strategy that can’t be explained simply won’t be executed effectively.
We worked with the CEO and leadership team of a regional tech company to distill their complex, board-approved strategy into a 10-slide narrative.
We supported the rollout across country markets and functions, ensuring every team and team member had a shared understanding of what they were working toward, and why.
2. Assessing the Gap Between Vision and Capability
There’s often a wide gap between where organizations want to go and what they’re realistically equipped to do. Many leaders set ambitious goals without fully understanding whether their current capabilities, structures, or talent can support them.
We helped a regional arts nonprofit confront this gap by assessing the organization’s readiness to execute its strategy and mapping capabilities, resource needs, and structural implications.
This process led to a rethinking of priorities, some difficult but necessary organization structure changes, a plan to upskill or acquire new capabilities, and ultimately, a more grounded and executable strategy.
3. Cascading the Strategy Across Teams
Misalignments between strategic goals, team priorities, and departmental efforts hinder execution. We help organizations close these gaps by introducing structured execution frameworks and goal-setting frameworks. Through education, facilitation, and hands-on support, we guide leaders in cascading strategy, aligning cross-functional teams, and integrating bottom-up input.
4. Aligning Culture and Strategy
Many teams lack the underlying systems that make execution possible: decision-makingclarity, communication flows, cultural norms, meeting structures, or performance tracking. In one regional organization with several cross-functional teams, we helped establish the operational foundations that turn strategy into practice. That included refining team cadences, clarifying communication channels and team norms, documenting core processes, and designing internal dashboards and reporting tools.
5. Upskilling Middle Management
Middle managers are the linchpin between strategy and execution, yet they’re often overlooked in transformation efforts. Without the right skills, tools, and support, they struggle to translate strategic goals into day-to-day actions for their teams.
We upskilled the middle managers of a global tech firm in the strategic thinking, management, and leadership capabilities required to drive execution.
Through targeted masterclasses, training, and coaching, we helped them connect their team’s work to strategic priorities, lead through complexity, and foster accountability. The result was a stronger execution engine fueled by empowered and aligned leaders at every level.
The Impact: #ReadyToDeliver
Companies with strong alignment between strategy, goals, and operations are 2.2 times more likely to outperform peers in both financial results and organizational health.
What we saw across the organizations we worked with was a noticeable shift in strategic clarity, alignment, and execution discipline. When leaders simplified their strategy, aligned it with real capabilities, and embedded it into team routines and planning processes, execution became more focused, coordinated, andsustainable.
Measurable Results
We conducted a survey following the Strategic Alignment phase, and the results over 8 months show clear improvements in strategic clarity, execution, role definition, and engagement.

"The team's ability to deliver high-quality, detailed work under time pressure not only demonstrated exceptional collaboration but also laid the groundwork for stronger strategic alignment across departments, ensuring that plans and performance are connected by a clear and unified framework."
